Our Approach

Sometimes it's worth being a leader; sometimes it's clever to adapt and improve

The method that works

Your software is bespoke and when we need to, so is our approach. We have an order, we know what works but we don't insist on following a prescriptive method because when we start out on this journey, we're mindful of how fluid and flexible it's necessary to be in the middle of a busy organisation's life.

Consultancy, research, Q&A

We spend significant time with you: talking to you, your team, the people who will be interacting with your software; taking your high level ideas through to actionable development.

Scoping & defining your brief, flow of information and architecture design

So that we both understand the flow of information from screen to screen, we will create a Minimum Viable Product. This will present you with the basic but necessary features of your software and give you the tangible and visual elements to see your ideas emerging.

Communication

Video calls / Email /Phone / Face to Face and lunches. Although the digital world can feel faceless, our communications are certainly not. It’s only through questions, updates and topic-specific meetings that we are ensured of building you the exact software that will bring much longed-for improvements.

Review, adapt, change & improve

After we’ve spent some time analysing the steps through the screens, you have the opportunity to make changes, additions or bring in new ideas. We treat this as the lightbulb moment when it all starts to fall into place and make sense.

The function

Adding the more complex layers of functionality and data takes your project from a passive to an active aspect where you will begin to experience how the software will make an impact on your day-to-day activity.

Test, feedback & bug detailing

Testing isn’t left until the very end as its role is vitally important – it helps us to work through bugs, user cycles and sanity check the user experience. We test, with your assistance, at milestone releases and we encourage you to feedback on everything, because if you can break it now, you won’t be able to do so in the future.

The finishing touches

Dashboard / Search / Reports / User admin and accounts. These are the final tasks which unite the software. It’s usually the parts that you’ll be interacting with most of the time. Your dashboards will keep you informed in real time of whatever you deem to be essential information and the reporting will become part of your business information to give you the level of control you desire.

Training, deployment & support

This is your moment of transition. We hand-hold right the way through, so that your team(s) are confident and ready. Our warranty and support is tailored for your needs, dependant on your in-house resources and your longer term plans.

A well executed system

Each business we work with operates very differently and we always feel privileged to be a part of the inner-workings of your company. It's very likely that we're sitting with you because you're very driven towards growth and improving in all areas. We know that some director teams want to make all software design decisions on their own whilst others want to involve all team managers. As the latter is the case within most organisations, an Agile rather than traditional approach has been the best way to develop complex software. That means that we won’t spend weeks of your budget producing an entire written specification of the system. We don’t believe that anyone can know exactly what is needed from beginning to end in that level of detail and we also know that people change their minds and we want to enable business owners to have a significant input in the design of their product.
